Franz Edelman Award

The Franz Edelman Award for achievement in operations research and management science is given once a year. The purpose of the Franz Edelman competition is to call out, recognize and reward outstanding examples of management science and operations research practice.

The honorary mention was given for the paper Maximizing Profits for Truckload Carriers: A New Framework for Pricing and Operations, by Warren Powell, Yossi Sheffi, Ken Nickerson, Kevin Butterbaugh and Susan Atherton. It was published in Interfaces, 18(1):21-42, January-February 1988.
