Research into all possible supply chain disruptions and methods to prepare for and respond when disaster strikes.
This project has evolved in multiple phases, beginning with an understanding of how to measure carbon footprints in logistics and supply chain systems. Early work included analyzing trade offs between inventory, transportation, and manufacturing and involved many case studies that demonstrated how there are many opportunities to align costs and carbon in logistics. More recently, this project has worked towards refining advanced methodologies and standards. A forthcoming book will capture some of the learnings of this project as well as "state-of-practice" on how to embed sustainability in supply chain operations.
